The skills and the assessment are always in person. Some providers move lecture content online beforehand, but a course advertised as entirely online does not produce a certification employers accept.
It depends where you intend to work. A large share of local roles are open water, so the waterfront module is usually necessary rather than optional.
The course is $420 and runs 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM in one session. There is no additional charge for the First Aid or CPR components.
Mainly town and village beaches, residential and day camps, town and school district pools.
Two years from the date of issue, after which recertification is a single shortened day rather than the full course.
