How do I book a place in a class?

Call (718) 954-5567 or email info@upstateaquatics.com to book. Dates run through the year rather than only in the summer, and the classes closest to the start of the season fill first, so booking a month out is the difference between the date you want and the date that is left.

What to have ready when you book

• Which certification you need. If an employer asked for something specific, quote their wording, because lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Water Safety Instructor are separate certifications.
• The candidate's age. Pool lifeguarding starts at 15, waterfront at 16.
• Whether you are booking one place or a group. Groups can be certified at your own pool instead of travelling.
• Any deadline you are working to, such as a season opening or a county exam date.

What happens on the day

Classes run at 37 Mineola Ave, Roslyn, NY 11576. Candidates complete the in-water assessment first, which is where the day is genuinely passed or failed, then work through rescues, spinal management, CPR and first aid. You leave with the certification rather than waiting on a postal card.

Booking a class at your own facility

Camps, clubs, hotels and municipal pools usually certify a team at their own site rather than sending staff out one at a time. See on-site certification, or ask when you call.
